Happy New Year .... and an update - PLEASE READ

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I know I am. Even though I have to work today, I am really here in body only. I am working on some forum details and lining up changes I would like to make soon. There are a few features that I would like to add and changes I would like to make. I am looking for a new portal/Homepage for the forum. I really like the newer phpbb3 but I miss the comparability and features of the old portal I used with phpbb2. I am thinking about scrapping the portal all together and developing a custom homepage myself.

One thing I would really like to promote this year is the custom poker room through nlop.com. preliminary info on Card Clubs skin is at http://www.cardclubs.net/poker . It is the best option I have found for forums wanting a free card room that is 100% legal in the USA. I have found the software there a lot better than the powerpokerclub. I will be totally honest with you, it will generate money for the forum for every new member that signs up there and plays. What am I gonna do with this money? Good question and I will be totally honest there too. I will be paying the expenses that it costs to operate this board AND provide prizes to reward members and attract new members. I am hoping that at least 50% of the procedes generated can go to prizes, maybe more. I would like to have a prize for the leaderboard winner and in the future to host tournaments with cash prizes just for my members. BUT i can only do this if you guys sign up and play and invite your friends also. The advantages of a no money / free poker site is that you do not have to worry about funding an account, using a credit card or potentially loosing money that is in your account.

I am also looking at moving the site to a new host that better supports forumsand costs less. It should be a transparent move to everyone here, so it will not be a big deal. The upside is that I potentially have more cash to direct to prizes.

If there is anything that you think should be added here or done differently or better let me know. I am open to suggestions.
